The book discusses issues related to medical treatment and moral attitudes and identifies the strongest arguments. These arguments are then critically analysed. The book incorporates new ways of thinking and explains, uses and illustrates the 'metaphorical method'. The book argues that decision-making in medicine is inadequate if it is not based on a philosophy of medicine. As part of its argument, the book explores the insights offered by practical and humanistic philosophy, as well as by creative and critical thinkers who deal with topics related to medicine. From this, a new and necessary definition of the philosophy of life emerges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Reviews<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>\"This book provides an overview of the key issues facing medical practice and is full of interesting case studies and narratives of patient care....
